Matlock CC Youth Team Coaching

 

The Club are now able to offer Matlock CC Youth and Junior riders prescribed coaching from our Level 3 coach Rob Williams, something the club has wanted to do for some time! Below are details of various levels of coaching on a sliding scale of pricing from Basic through to a 'premium' package. Club youth members will get a significant discount.

Riders / parents can email Rob on matlockcc.coaching@gmail.com to enquire and for information on costs. Note these are aimed at first claim Youth B, Youth A and Junior riders. Younger than that we don’t recommend structured training, just ride your bike and enjoy it!

There are limited places available for coaching subscription and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Matlock CC Youth Team Riders - Youth B (U14) Youth A U16 Junior U18 - 1st Claim Coaching Levels:

Basic - Rider led training.

POA per month

Free Training Peaks Account (for additional fee of £10 per month Rob can provide a training peaks premium account)

Riders will get 1 plan review per month from Rob and input towards tailoring training to key identified races.

Riders set their own training plans, workouts and season goals.

1 zoom/teams call every 6-8 weeks - 60 mins maximum

Unlimited Whatsapp and email messages. (parents are required in the chat group for safeguarding!) All communication will involve a parent.

Intermediate Coach led training

POA per month

Free Training Peaks Account (for additional fee of £10 per month Rob can provide a training peaks premium account)

Initial rider profiling and benchmarking

An annual training plan will be created for each rider

Bespoke training prescription

Strength and conditioning advice (not prescribed)

HR/Power/GPS data files review

Plans reviewed fortnightly

Race and training goal setting

1 phone/teams contact with the coach per month - 60 minutes maximum

Unlimited email and Whatsapp enquiries (parents are required in the chat group for safeguarding!) All communication will involve a parent.

Premium - includes Premium edition Training Peaks account.

POA per month including Premium Training Peaks Account

Initial rider profiling and benchmarking

HR/Power/GPS data files review

Unlimited plan revisions

An annual training plan will be created for each rider

Strength and conditioning advice (not prescribed)

Race and training goal setting

Unlimited phone/teams/zoom contact with the coach as required by the rider. Unlimited email and Whatsapp enquiries (parents are required in the chat group for safeguarding!) All communication will involve a parent.

For the basic package - a bike is all the rider needs for training - A heart rate monitor/Power metre and GPS device will help but aren’t essential.

For the intermediate and Premium packages it is beneficial but not essential to have 1 of the following to allow the analysis of the ride data - Heart rate Monitor and/or Power Meter. A cycle GPS computer - Garmin/Wahoo or similar is also helpful and with a premium account workouts can be downloaded automatically to most devices.

Prescribed sessions will be a mix of turbo and road/off road.

All packages will need access to a computer or device to access Training Peaks.
