Monday “Easy Wheels” Ride
Meet at 09.30am - please contact Dave Gordon (his details are in the event calender when you click on the Easy Wheels event) The rides use a mixture of cycle trails and roads to arrive at a café. The total distance of these rides is approximately 25 miles. For details of each week's ride please see the event calendar.
Thursday 'Gravel Express' Ride
A gravel ride mostly off-road along the Matlock - Rowsley part of the White Peak trail which runs during British Summertime (BST) This is aimed at youngsters who don’t do the time trials and anyone else who fancies a ride along the trail. Meet at the Whitworth Park car park from 6.45pm to set off at 7pm. The ride will set off to Rowsley to then turn and ride back to the Arc crossing at Matlock and then back (or in reverse). How far and how fast you want to ride is up to you! This isn’t a coaching session, it’s a family ride and any youngsters must be accompanied by a parent - no escape! We’ll split into smaller groups if the numbers get too large. We may vary the route once the ride has settled into a routine. We will be sharing the path with other cyclists and pedestrians so please be respectful!
Saturday Mountain Bike Ride
Not an 'official' Matlock CC ride but a well known ride among the locals in Matlock. Starts 9.30am from the car park opposite Stanley Fearn Cycles taking in routes using the local trails.
Sunday Cafe Rides
We have a list of Sunday club ride café venues displayed on the event calendar. When you rejoin / join the club you will be given a card with the venue details and dates. The idea is that riders from around the club can turn up at the café whether they have ridden individually or as a group. One venue every month (shown in bold on the card) is a family / child friendly venue able to be reached from a ride along a trail which means the youngsters of the club can also come along too. You can see more here
