Steve Johnson, British Cycling regional development manager for the East Midlands said of the

achievement: “My congratulations go to Matlock CC on being awarded runner-up in the Go-Ride Club of the Year awards.. The coaches and volunteers work extremely hard to provide opportunities for young people to get involved in cycling. The club are a great example to others and continue to go from strength to strength”.

Richard Thoday, Chairman of Matlock CC added: The clubs strength with coaching comes from a very committed group of volunteer coaches who give up a huge amount of time to provide a consistently full and varied programme of opportunities for young riders throughout the year. This is proper grass roots, low cost sport at its best and the young riders love it.
